You can create your own PGN (Portable Game Notation) with a third party chess site or program and paste it into the box below.

We recommend following these steps:

  1. Login to Lichess studies (create account if you don't have one)
  2. Click My studies
  3. If no studies listed, click + icon to create one (or select existing study)
  4. Click the Chapter link next to Member (just above the left top white box), then at the bottom of that box click Add a new chapter
  5. Give the chapter any name, then click Create chapter
  6. Enter moves and annotations using board and speech bubble tools. Note you can rotate board with the 'f' key on your keyboard. If you make a mistake entering moves, right-click the move and select Delete from here
  7. When done, click Share and export icon (next to 🛈) then click Copy PGN
  8. In another browser tab, go to ballaratchess.com, find the tournament's Games tab, scroll down to the PGN area
  9. Click inside that area and Ctrl+V (or right-click, Paste) anywhere in there
  10. Delete the header lines (enclosed in square brackets) leaving ONLY the move list with comments/variations
  11. Fill in the information above the PGN with your details (check that you are importing into correct collection)
  12. Click Save
  13. Note when you come back you will see the Board screen in the games tab - if you want to enter a second game refresh the page.
